John Kennedy has revealed he has spoken with Celtic striker Albian Ajeti after he did not make the bench for Sunday's Rangers clash.

The £5million signing was dropped from the squad at Parkhead having not yet fully settled or performed for the club since joining from West Ham.

Ajeti, though he started with five goals in his first 10 appearances, has fallen off the trail so to speak with just six strikes in total from 29 showings, including from the bench.

He was not even involved in the squad whatsoever against champions Gers with Leigh Griffiths and Patryk Klimala chosen for the bench and Odsonne Edouard starting. Wideman Moi Elyounoussi, meanwhile, was chosen ahead of all of them.

But Kennedy revealed he has since spoken with the Swiss striker and there are no issues. He said: “We had so many fit players and everyone wanted to be involved. Three strikers on the bench for the game wasn’t quite right.

“I spoke to Albian and addressed it so there’s no drama. Every game is different. We needed a balance on the bench but it’s fine.”
