Kieran Tierney is set to undergo scans this morning to discover the extent of his injury, we understand.

The Arsenal defender hobbled off against Liverpool after colliding with James Milner at the weekend.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta warned the club are not certain yet how long the left-back could be out, but Herald and Times Sport understands he will be looked at on Tuesday morning by doctors.

Former Celtic ace Tierney will be fearing the worst with Scotland's Euro 2020 campaign set to get underway this summer. He will be keeping his fingers crossed, as will the Tartan Army, that the injury is not as bad as first thought.

Arteta, after his side's 3-0 loss at the Emirates to last season's champions, said: "He felt something with his knee. He was in pain. It looks like he will be injured but we don't know for how long."
