John Kennedy has provided an update on the future of Leigh Griffiths amid reported interest from Aberdeen and Hibs.
The Celtic striker has not featured for the Hoops as often as he'll have liked thus far, with former manager Neil Lennon criticising his attitude and his fitness levels earlier this season.
Griffiths has only played 27 times, with the majority of matches he's had to settle for a place on the bench. That has led to speculation about his career progression and has alerted other clubs to his potential availability in the summer.
Interim manager Kennedy refused to rule out his departure - with the Dons looking a likely option as Scott Brown also heads for Pittodrie - though he admitted he and the player will have to sit down after the campaign ends to settle his future.
"The situation is like a lot of players' contracts," Kennedy said. "The last year can sometimes be an option year, so you find that players might sign a three year contract with a year option at the end of that. That's where Leigh is at with his situation.
"There's an option at the end of this year but, again, this is one of these decisions that will have to be made. That'll be a discussion between Leigh and the club and it'll remain private until it's decided. But it's something we'll have to think about as we move forward, the club will have the discussion with Leigh but that's what the situation is and I can't say too much more on it."
