Frank McAvennie has slaughtered Celtic's Albian Ajeti and urged the club to get rid NOW.

The striker joined the Hoops in a £5million deal from West Ham but has seriously struggled with fitness and confidence issues taking over his time in green and white so far. The Swiss hitman has only scored six goals in 31 appearances this term for the Celtic first-team despite hitting the ground running with a debut strike against Dundee Utd.

Former Celts attacker McAvennie has not seen anything from Ajeti that he believes can take him to success at Parkhead and he believes the club should sell the player as soon as they can for as close to what they paid for him.

He watched Jonjoe Kenny at right-back provide some opportunities for his teammate in their win over Livingston on Saturday but the goal scorer, in Macca's view, did not do enough. That's why the Celtic hero would ship him out.

He told Football Insider: "I’m a striker and I look at strikers. I Look at Ajeti and for me, no. He’s just not good enough. He’s had enough time and I’m looking at Ajeti and thinking ‘you’re on big money’. At least sprint, at least do something. He doesn’t even get involved in the build-up.

"Jonjoe Kenny is firing balls across and he must be furious because it’s terrible for him that people aren’t there for him, he’s a striker’s dream.

"He needs to go and Celtic should accept even half of what they paid for him."
