MATT POLSTER hopes Rangers fans get the chance to celebrate in style this season after clinching a historic 55th Premiership title.

Steven Gerrard's side will be crowned as champions when they host Aberdeen on the final day of the league campaign next month.

Rangers also have the Scottish Cup in their sights this term after ending their decade-long wait for the top flight silverware and host Celtic in the fourth round this weekend.

Polster left Ibrox last summer to return Stateside as he put pen-to-paper on a deal with New England Revolution.

The American is preparing for the start of the new Major League Soccer campaign this weekend but has been keeping a close eye on events in Glasgow and the fortunes of his former team-mates.

Polster said: "I have been keeping up to date and I saw that they beat Hibs 2-1 at home, which was nice.

"They have had a hell of a season and they are doing incredible. I'm not shocked.

"I'm not sure which celebrations will be able to be held and I hope they get to have a parade and a massive celebration with all the fans and celebrate properly. I know that might not be possible with Covid and everything.

"Hopefully that will happen. I wish I was there for it, I know it will be one hell of a party!

"But I'm just happy that they had a great season and finally got to 55."
