The SPFL have taken aim at the European Super League and insisted "That's not football" after top clubs from around the world created the new competition.

Scottish football's governing body released a highlight reel video on social media comparing the money-spinning Super League with traditional values and family entertainment that footie is supposed to be.

It comes as the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool all broke away to join nine other founder members of the tournament.

Highlights from the SPFL's clip show showed off wild celebrations among supporters of all the top flight clubs in the country as well as some unique hand-held cam footage of celebrations from the lower leagues.

It was a direct pop at the big boys who have been accused of creating the new league for financial gain and ignoring their thousands of supporters who would usually attend matchdays.

Several pundits including the likes of Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Jamie Carragher have all condemned the creation including clubs they support.
