STEVEN GERRARD is confident Scott Wright can continue to go from strength to strength at Ibrox after netting his first Rangers goal in midweek.
The forward opened his account with a neat finish at McDiarmid Park but his efforts would ultimately prove in vain as a late Liam Craig penalty earned St Johnstone a share of the spoils.
Wright has made a promising impression following his move from Aberdeen in the final hours of the winter transfer window as Rangers brought him to Glasgow ahead of schedule this term.

His performance in Perth could now have him in the running for another appearance against the Saints as Gerrard's side bid for a place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
And the Ibrox boss has been encouraged by what he has seen of Wright so far as the 23-year-old attempts to help Rangers add another piece of silverware to their Premiership crown.
Gerrard said: "I answered a similar question after the game and Scott has done everything he has been asked to do, whether that be in the gym, whether it be his diet or on the training pitch, and certainly in games in terms of taking information on board he has been a model professional.
"I think he has showed real good impact from the bench so far. One of the games he started against Cove, he might even have got Man of the Match in the game, was a strong performance and again the other night, in flashes, he showed why we tried to bring him here.
"He is exciting, he is quick, he can create, he can score and he is one that is a work in progress.
"Excited to have him here and he is one that is certainly pushing for a starting place at the weekend."
