THE Scottish Professional Football League have responded to Partick Thistle banning them from Firhill for the League One trophy presentation, wishing them well in their celebrations.
The Jags, who clinched a quickfire return to the Championship with a crushing 5-0 win over Falkirk last week, will collect the trophy this morning.
Manager Ian McCall made Thistle’s position clear on an appearance on BBC Sportsound though, saying: “Nobody from the SPFL or the SFA will be allowed in the stadium, which is great. Simple as that.”
A spokesperson for the SPFL responded by saying: "Partick Thistle are very deserving and worthy champions.
“We wish them well as they celebrate their League One title and look forward to seeing them competing in the Championship next season."
