CELTIC will send a scout to "run the rule" over St Johnstone midfielder Ali McCann during Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final against St Mirren, according to reports.
The 21-year-old Scot, who represents Northern Ireland at international level, has enjoyed another fine campaign in the heart of the Saints side after breaking into the starting XI at the start of last season.
The central midfielder is expected to start at Hampden against the Buddies on Sunday afternoon, where he'll be watched closely by the Hoops - according to the Sunday Post.
Davidson's men are bidding for an unlikely cup double after lifting the League Cup earlier this year, and the Perth club know that a win over Jim Goodwin's side will tee up a final with Hibs later this month.
Celtic will undergo a major rebuild this summer, with a host of key players expected to depart Parkhead at the end of the season.
Long-serving captain Scott Brown has already agreed a pre-contract move to Aberdeen and the Hoops will be on the lookout for new recruits to fill the void left by the 35-year-old.
