JOHN KENNEDY has moved to quell speculation linking Karamoko Dembele with a move away from Celtic, saying he still has one more year left on his contract with the club.
Reports had suggested that 18-year-old Dembele’s deal with Celtic was due to expire at the end of this season, and that he may look to move on in search of first-team football.
But after he came off the bench to score his first senior goal, Kennedy cleared up the situation.
“There is a lot of speculation in terms of Karamoko being out of contract in the summer,” Kennedy said.
“I don’t know where that that has come from because he has another year left.
“In terms of him, again a young player and every young player has a different pathway.
“Karamoko has been spoken about as the next superstar, but people develop physically at different rates.
“He is probably one who still has a bit of development, but is a terrific talent — we know that.
“It’s not a token gesture, he has done well in training recently.”
