Kris Ajer has confirmed he wants a move out of Celtic this summer.

The defender has been linked with a number of clubs this season but has never spoken publicly about his future.

However now, in the Norway Euro 2020 training camp, the Hoops ace has revealed it would be the "best solution" for both himself and the Glasgow giants if he left.

"With one year left of my contract, that would be the best solution for me and my club," Ajer revealed. "Something is going to happen this summer."

"There are many rumours, and right now there are only rumours. I have one year left on my contract and I'm sticking to it.

"It is clear that something will happen this summer."

We exclusively revealed that Bayer Leverkusen have joined Norwich City and Newcastle in the hunt for the Norwegian.

Ajer - who has played 176 times for Celtic - was coy on which club he had his eye on, but did explain that he hopes it will be a 'top five league' in Europe.

"In terms of club I do not want to go into anything. We'll get to that later, but it's a top five league I aim for.

"For those outside, it is difficult to understand how important football is in Glasgow.  There could have been 120,000 spectators if only the stadium had been expanded.

"I have gained good experience after playing almost 180 games for a top club like Celtic.

"I have experienced how football can be on good and bad days. So it has been a very good experience."
