Ange Postecoglou is a man who may need some introduction as Celtic's new manager.

The Greek-born Australian coach has been confirmed as the new boss at Parkhead after more than 100 days without a man in charge following Neil Lennon's resignation.

Postecoglou, 55, has been handed the reins on a 12-month rolling contract and will hope to hit the ground running when his quarantine period is finally over and he can meet up with his new players.

But who exactly is Ange Postecoglou? Where has he come from and who has he managed? Has he won many trophies in his career as a boss?

Here's what you need to know about the man himself.

Postecoglou was a defender who spent his entire career in Australia with South Melbourne.

He won two National Soccer League titles with the club having made 193 appearances.

After retiring he became the club's manager where he, again, won the title twice. Since then he has had stints in management in Greece, Australia and Japan.

Which teams has he managed?

As mentioned above he started his management career at his beloved South Melbourne in 1996 having previously been a player and a coach at the club.

He then moved on to become Australia under-20s head coach before eventually going back to club football with Greek outfit Panachaiki in 2008.

It was a somewhat unsuccessful spell and he departed not long after his appointment. But he landed at Brisbane Roar where he led them to consecutive championships.

He then spent a year at Melbourne Victory before leaving to take the reins at the Australian national team. He guided his players to the World Cup in 2014 before, the following year, winning the Asian Cup by beating South Korea in the final for the first time ever.

He helped the Aussies secure qualification for the 2018 World Cup but resigned before he could partake in the tournament. Since 2017 he has been working as manager at Yokohama F Marinos in Japan. He won J1 League title in 2019.
