Rangers could be forced to ditch their pre-season plans in Portugal, according to reports.

Steven Gerrard and his troops were set to travel to the Algarve later this month.

But Portugal has been removed from the green-lit country list to travel to.

Now the Ibrox outfit, according to the Scottish Sun, are preparing alternatives including St Andrews where they could instead prepare for the defence of their Premiership title.

The same publication also claim Gers would rather make a trip down south to use facilities there and play against opposition from England.
