DAVID MARSHALL 6
Commanded his box well and pulled off a good save in the first half from a Patrik Schick strike. Had no chance with either goal.
LIAM COOPER 6
In from the start due to an injury for Kieran Tierney. Defended well and was strong in the air.
JACK HENDRY 5
Can’t be faulted for his defensive showing but a poor decision to take on a shot in the lead up to the second Czech goal. Unlucky to see a strike come off the crossbar early in the second period.
GRANT HANLEY 8
Many questioned his place in the starting team XI and he answered their concerns. A polished defensive display at Hampden.
STUART ARMSTRONG 6
An energetic shift in midfield and saw plenty of the ball. Could have done better with his final ball at times. Had a couple of strikes deflected behind for corners.
STEPHEN O’DONNELL 5
Looked nervous in possession and was poor going forward. Stuck to his defensive task well though.
SCOTT MCTOMINAY 6
Played most of the game in central midfield and failed to get on the ball as much as he would have liked. Moved into defence late on.
ANDY ROBERTSON 8
Best performance in a Scotland shirt to date. Bombed forward on the left flank at every opportunity and defended brilliantly. Saw his powerful strike tipped over in the first half.
JOHN MCGINN 7
His usual influential self in the middle of the park. Put himself about and kept the ball well.
LYNDON DYKES 6
Led the line well for Scotland but failed to get on the scoresheet. Missed a big chance with 20 minutes remaining.
RYAN CHRISTIE 6
Got up in support of Lyndon Dykes but struggled to influence the opening 45 minutes. Hooked at half-time.
SUBS
CHE ADAMS (FOR CHRISTIE, 45) 6
Linked up well with Dykes when introduced from the bench.
CALLUM MCGREGOR (FOR HENDRY, 67) 5
Added a bit of composure in the middle of the park.
RYAN FRASER (FOR ARMSTRONG, 67) 4
Never got the opportunity to utilise his pace in the dying stages of the game.
KEVIN NISBET (FOR DYKES, 79) 4
Thrown on late in the day as Scotland searched for route back into it.
JAMES FORREST (FOR O’DONNELL, 79) 5
Looked sharp and added an attacking threat late on. Jinked into the box and almost found the back of the net with five minutes to go.
