English football pundit Jamie O’Hara insists Scotland “have no chance” against England on Friday claiming Steve Clarke’s men will get battered at Wembley.

O’Hara, 34, most recently played for Billericay Town in the English National League South, the sixth tier of English football.

He previously had unsuccessful spells at Tottenham and Wolves becoming somewhat of a journeyman over the last ten years.

Speaking on the talkSPORT Breakfast Show, O’Hara joined former Rangers player Ally McCoist and ex-Manchester United star Alan Brazil to preview the game.

Talking about the upcoming game, O’Hara told both former Scotland internationals: “You have no chance.

“If England turn up you’ve got no chance.

“The only way you will actually get something from this game is if England don’t turn up.”

McCoist was quick to defend his country, acknowledging England’s quality but insisting Scotland could cause an upset.

He said: “If all the England players turn up its going to be unbelievably difficult for Scotland.

“But that doesn’t always happen though, you’ve always got a chance.”

The host of the show, Brazil, chipped in on the debate by bringing up the point that recent results between the sides haven’t resulted in any batterings at the hands of the Auld Enemy.

But the former Wolves star remained adamant, suggesting Scotland were no serious threat in the tournament and were only at the tournament “making up the numbers”.

Brazil looked a bit shocked at this before saying: “That’s a disgrace. It’s people like you who make folk like Dean Saunders come on here wishing for Scotland to batter England. You make him like that.”

O’Hara clearly realised he had perhaps pushed things too far as he then tried to defend himself by saying he still wanted other UK countries to succeed.

He said: “Wales played well, I wanted them to win. I’d like Scotland to not finish bottom.

“I’d like to see them progress, but I just want to see England batter them too.

“I mean it’ll be pretty embarrassing if after all this hype of getting to the Euros and you leave with zero points. You've given it the big 'un."

Both McCoist and Brazil said that Scotland losing all three would not be embarrassing even if it was disappointing.

The former Rangers forward clapped back: "You're the ones who give it the big 'un. You've won one major tournament by the way with a goal that wasn't over the line. Am I right?"

The trio were laughing and joking about it with the disrespectful comments about Scotland brushed off.

They discussed Wales superb result against Turkey last night which has all but confirmed their place in the knock-out stage with four points out of six.

And when O’Hara claimed that Ryan Giggs’ team was stronger than Steve Clarke’s McCoist was again on hand to defend his country.

He said: "Wales have a couple of attackers who are capable for changing a game in an instant.

"But I don't think you could say they're better than us, no. It would be a very tight game I'm sure though."

Scotland face England on Friday night at Wembley with kick-off at 8pm.
