SCOTLAND fans got to work cleaning up litter in London's Leicester Square – putting in an admirable effort to remove the mess from pre-match excitement.

Pictures taken ahead of last night's game against England show the Tartan Army setting aside some time from all the build-up to sort out the streets.

Fans wrapped up in the Lion Rampant and wearing Scotland tops could all be seen dealing with the rubbish.

Some even wore gloves for safety as they made Scotland proud while on their away trip.

Many Scotland fans made the journey south of the Border despite not having tickets for the game – though those in the stadium made themselves heard.

The Tartan Army will be returning to Scotland for a crunch game against Croatia, to be played at Glasgow's Hampden Park.
