Josh Windass couldn't help taking a pop at Celtic's Callum McGregor after he opened his Scotland scoring account at Euro 2020.

The midfielder netted a terrific right-footed strike to give the Scots hope before they ultimately crashed out of the tournament following a 3-1 defeat to Croatia at Hampden.

Former Rangers ace Windass was full of compliments for the goal, as well as the talents of McGregor - but still managed to squeeze in a jibe at his former Glasgow rival via social media.

Tweeting after the equaliser, Windass wrote: "McGregor is a top player man. Wrong club but top player. What a finish".

The post racked up thousands of likes and shares with Gers fans loving Windass's loyalty to his former club.

One joked: "He was great for rangers this year," and another added: "Love that".

Windass, who now plies his trade for Sheffield Wednesday, made 73 appearances during a two year stay at Ibrox where he scored 19 goals.
