Leicester City's interest in Odsonne Edouard seems to be over after the Foxes signed RB Salzburg ace Patson Daka.

Daka, 22, is a proven goal scorer with a terrific record for the Austrian outfit with 29 goals from 36 appearances last season alone. That took his tally to 59 in 103 over four years.

Brendan Rodgers, the Leicester boss, has been keen to bolster his attacking options and had been keeping tabs on Edouard - a player he brought to Parkhead during his time as Celtic manager back in 2018.

Glasgow Times:

Celts had been bracing themselves for a bid for Edouard, whose deal expires next summer, but the Premier League side look to be finished with their pursuit after making their signing.

Meanwhile the Frenchman was today pictured back in training at Lennoxtown under the watchful eye of Ange Postecoglou.

The new Hoops head coach revealed recently that he would be having a chat with his key striker with the view to trying to entice him to stay amid constant transfer speculation.
