Rangers hero Barry Ferguson reckons Celtic would be getting a top player in Sheffield Utd's George Baldock.

The Blades right-back has attracted interest from Glasgow with head coach Ange Postecoglou hoping to secure a deal for the defender.

Ferguson likes the look of Baldock, 28, and believes he could be a good player in the Premiership should the Hoops stump up the cash to bring him to Parkhead.

Glasgow Times:

"One player that has stuck out has been George Baldock," he told Go Radio. "He’s always been a steady Eddie on that right-hand side for Sheffield United.

"I can see the reasons why Celtic are interested in him.

"They’ll be getting a good, solid player, that’s for sure."

Meanwhile the Hoops are also looking at Manchester City's Ko Itakura as a potential centre-half signing.

And Hajduk Split's Mario Vuskovic is also on the club's radar.
