SCOTT WRIGHT is determined to use his maiden title triumph as the launchpad for further success with Rangers as he prepares for his first full season at Ibrox.

The forward made the move from Aberdeen during the January transfer window and played his part in helping Steven Gerrard's side clinch the Premiership flag.

Wright will now look to establish himself even further in the coming months as Rangers attempt to defend their title and prepare for their return to the Champions League this term.

And the 23-year-old is well aware of the opportunity that lies ahead for him during what could be the best campaign of his fledgling career so far.

Wright told RangersTV: “It’s been a fantastic start for me as a Rangers player.

“We are all so proud of what we achieved last season but now it is a case of coming back for the new season and re-focusing and setting new targets to try and achieve.

“We all enjoyed what we achieved but that’s in the past now and the manager has spoken to us and pushed the message that we can’t stand still. We have new targets to hit and that’s what we want to do.

“The day we won the league Ross Wilson said to me in the changing room that was one of the reasons he was so desperate to get me in in January.

“I am so grateful for that because I got to experience all of the joys of last season. Now I have to come in and try to hit the ground running and attack it.

“I want to improve every single day and I want to try and break into the team and make that spot my own.

“I will bring what I can to the team and try and help it any way that I can.

“The most important thing in pre-season is making sure we are ready for July 31 and the first game against Livingston. We have some brilliant games coming up in pre-season.”
