Celtic's new boy Kyogo Furuhashi will be celebrated by his club Vissel Kobe in a 'transfer farewell ceremony' this weekend.

The Japanese striker, 26, was brought to the Hoops by Ange Postecoglou in a four-year deal, pending a medical.

The deal is believed to be worth in the region of £4.5million and Celts were pleased to get the signing over the line with Champions League qualifiers against FC Midtjylland on the horizon.

Now though, after three years at Kobe in his homeland, the J League club are set to honour their hitman for his contributions where he bagged 14 goals in 20 appearances this season alone.

He has been named J League Outstanding Player the past two seasons and scored three international strikes for Japan.

A Vissel Kobe statement on the ceremony read: "We are pleased to inform you that the “Transfer Send-off Party” for Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic FC will be held at Noevir Stadium Kobe from 10am on Sunday, July 18th.

“Although it will be held in a hurry, it is an event where Furuhashi will greet fans and supporters. So please wear Furuhashi’s goods and participate in it. No prior application is required to participate. You can participate for free.”

The event will be live streamed on YouTube and include a fan question and answer session.

Celtic boss Postecoglou revealed earlier today that he was excited to see what Furuhashi might bring to Parkhead. He said: "We are delighted to bring Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic. He is a player of real quality and clearly someone I know well.

“I think he will add something special to our squad and I am sure the way he plays will excite our supporters. We look forward to welcoming him to Celtic."
