Reports this morning have suggested that Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths could leave Parkhead on loan this summer.

The Scotland international recently signed a new one year deal with the club with Ange Postecoglou keen to see him action.

However, Griffiths was sent home from Celtic's Wales training camp following claims that he had sent inappropriate messages to two schoolgirls. He has since been cleared by Police Scotland.

The Scottish Sun now say that English League One side Sunderland are weighing up a loan move for Griffiths.

The Black Cats are looking to replace star man Charlie Wyke after the prolific striker moved to Wigan last week.

Asked about Griffiths last week, Celtic boss Postecoglou said:

“You know how much time I have spent thinking about that? You’ve asked me and I’ve just thought about it.

“We’ll let it run its course and once it’s done and we get back up to Scotland then we’ll deal with it then.

“I’ve not spoken to him."
