Kai Kennedy has swapped Ibrox for East End Park after completing a loan deal at Dunfermline.

The Rangers youngster was wanted by Peter Grant for his Championship play-off push this season and the former Celtic coach and player got his man this morning.

Kennedy has had stints at Raith Rovers and Inverness CT but will play again in the second tier as Gers look to get their winger more experience.

Rangers' Head of Academy, Craig Mulholland, told the club website: “We are looking forward to seeing Kai continue his development at Dunfermline.

“He did well last year at both Inverness and Raith during his first season on loan and his challenge is to take this to an even higher level this year and now make a massive contribution to a Dunfermline side who will have high ambitions for the season ahead.

“Dunfermline have been really keen to sign Kai for some time and we believe that their style of play and excellent grass surface will be conducive to Kai making a big impact.”

It comes after news broke that West Ham were considering a swoop for the 19-year-old. But Herald and Times Sport understands the Light Blues wanted more than was on offer from the Premier League club.

There is a January recall option available to Gers.
