Ange Postecoglou insists Celtic are working hard on incomings at Parkhead - with three 'plan As' in each position.

The Australian has not had enough time to fully overhaul his playing staff but has numerous slots he needs filled with new faces. Though he plans on being involved in every facet of the recruitment drive.

Already having brought in Carl Starfelt, Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada, the business continues with a right-back, centre-half and striker seemingly the priorities.

But despite refusing to be drawn on specific names - George Baldock, Moritz Jenz and Sacha Boey among those being touted - Postecoglou revealed the club are doing their due diligence on a number of options.

Speaking to Sky Sports the manager said: "Look, I’m pleased (with business done so far) but at the same time we need to do more. It’s the one area where we are chipping away but haven’t had the visible results.

"We signed Liel Abada who came in and had a fantastic debut, and we’ve signed Carl Starfelt and Kyogo Furuhashi but they’re not even here at the moment. That’s the challenges of the world we live in at the moment. That’s a little bit frustrating as it would have been good to have had those two boys here already.

“The others we’re working on concluding a bit quicker. But it’s not because of wanting or lack of hard work.

“We’re endeavouring to get there and are chipping away and hopefully in the next two or three weeks we’ll see the fruits of that.

“I’m involved in everything, that’s just my nature as a person. Anything I’m going to take responsibility for I’m going to make sure I have input into and have a say. That’s part of getting to know me. I want to be involved in everything and I want to make sure I’m in charge of everything.

“But I’ll also take responsibility for the outcome, good or bad.

“Whatever we’re trying to do it will happen a lot quicker if people believe in me as a person more than what I’m saying or proposing to do.

“So it’s really important that people get a clear understanding of me as a person and what I’m about.

“I’ve tried to get involved in as many of the areas as I can, in particular with the players and football staff, to give them a clear identity and understanding of who I am as a person.”

He added: "We’ve got multiple targets for every position as it’s challenging right now to get deals done, whether because of Covid restrictions or because it’s still fairly early in the window.

“If I were to say I was after a certain player and we didn’t get him I’d hate for people to think we moved on to Plan B as that’s not the case.

“We have three Plan As running concurrently for the position where we need players and for me it’s about getting one of those into the squad as quickly as possible. Right-back is an area where we don’t have a lot of depth so that’s one of the key areas but there are other positions too.”
