Celtic target Sacha Boey is set to leave Rennes to join Galatasaray after snubbing terms on a deal at Parkhead.
The right-back was a serious option for the Hoops who had been in discussions with the club over personal terms with a move at an advanced stage.
However after a breakdown in negotiations believed to have been caused by an unnamed intermediary, the Frenchman moved on to other options and Turkish giants Galatasaray moved quickly to get their man.
Boey, 19, is now, Herald and Times Sport understands, undergoing talks with the club and looks set to join up next week - with a potential clash against St Johnstone in Europa League qualifying lying in wait.
The player spent last season on loan at Dijon and, despite being unable to save them from relegation, was voted their outstanding player.
Celtic meanwhile are still after a right-sided full-back and have identified George Baldock as a top priority, while Brandon Soppy is also still on their shortlist.
