JOHN LUNDSTRAM believes Rangers are 'built to win' as he sets his sights on silverware success during his first season in Scottish football.

The midfielder made the move to Ibrox earlier this month following his departure from Sheffield United and has quickly made a positive impression on Steven Gerrard's squad.

Rangers face Brighton and Real Madrid this weekend as they finalise their friendly schedule before hosting Livingston in their first Premiership clash of the campaign next Saturday.

Lundstram suffered relegation with the Blades last term but is confident his fortunes will be very different this time around now as Gerrard's side bid for further glories in the coming months.

Lundstram told Sky Sports: "It’s massive. That was a big part of me coming to such a historic club. When you see the facilities and the surroundings, everything here is built to win.

"They can expect me to give everything for the shirt, everything for the badge, everything for them, up and down the pitch. Hopefully I will chip in with goals as well.

"He (Gerrard) wants me to chip in with goals, be a goalscoring midfielder. Hopefully I can bring a bit of experience to the team and help them push that bit further and get to the Champions League.

"There are six midfielders here now, and all of us could easily play in the starting XI. It’s about each one of us trying to stamp our authority on the training pitch. That’s what we’re trying to do.

"It’s going to be a tough one. It's a different challenge [in the Premiership].

"We’re going to have a lot of the ball. It’s about breaking teams down and trying to find that opening.

"It’s a different challenge to the one I was used to last year but it’s one I can’t wait for.

"It’s completely different to where I have come from. At times, we didn’t have much of the ball last year so hopefully this year, with having more of the ball, I can show what I can do in possession of it."
