Leigh Griffiths has not travelled with the Celtic squad for their Champions League qualifier against Midtjylland, reports have suggested.

The striker did not board the plane to Denmark for the second-leg.

Celts hold onto a 1-1 draw heading into Wednesday evening's crunch tie but have some work to do without Nir Bitton or new signing Carl Starfelt in the centre of defence following the former's red card last week.

And now they will be without Griff who, the Scottish Sun reports, has an injury which has kept him out of the squad for the return match.

The news comes after the 30-year-old was embroiled in some controversy recently where he was alleged to have been sending messages to underage girls.

Cops became involved but cleared the player of any wrongdoing and he was back in the Hoops squad for their friendly against West Ham last weekend.

The attacker came off the bench in that match but was booed by sections of his own support.
