JORDAN LARSSON would be a top signing for both Celtic AND the player himself, according to a Sweden legend.

The 24-year-old, son of Parkhead icon Henrik, has been linked with a move to Celtic from when he could first kick a ball.

Larsson enjoyed a super season for Russian outfit Spartak Moscow last term, netting 15 goals in 30 matches leading to increased interest in his services.

And while Borussia Dortmund, West Ham and even Barcelona have been linked with the attacker, Celtic would be the perfect place for him says Marcus Allback.

Allback played alongside Henrik Larsson for the majority of his Sweden international career and reckons his strike partner's son would be well suited to life at Parkhead if the Hoops pulled off a stunning swoop for him.

“If Jordan Larsson was to sign for Celtic, I know that would be a great signing for both the player and the club", said Allback speaking with Rekatochklart.

"Jordan is a great player and has a lot of good qualities that he could bring to the team. He’s not the tallest, but he is strong, his mentality of working hard and always making runs, taking on players and his effort to defend, is something that would suit playing for Celtic.

"He is still a pretty young guy with many years ahead of him, and he could be a signing for a team looking for an attacking profile that likes to take his opponents and try to go straight towards the goal.

"He played in almost all the games in the Russian Premier League last season and scored quite a few goals and created a few assists. He is a versatile player that can play in most of the positions in attack.”

Larsson has already shown his own ability but if he was to make a switch to Glasgow there would be nothing to stop comparisons with his father.

But Allback, who played for Aston Villa and Copenhagen during his career, insists it would not affect the striker one bit.

“There is no doubt that Henrik Larsson was an absolute fantastic player. Actually, most of my 74 caps for Sweden, was alongside Henrik - and I loved it!

"Henrik had an incredible career with all the teams he went to with Celtic, Barcelona, Manchester United and the Swedish national team - so for sure Jordan would be even more compared with his father at Celtic, which would be tough off course, but on the other hand, Jordan has been compared with his father his whole career.

"But Jordan is his own person and player, and he’s done well stepping out of the shadow of his father and is doing well for himself.

"Jordan has great talent, and already is on track for a good career for himself, being selected for the squad of the EURO2020 and doing well in Russia.

"If there is any pressure in Scotland, there is no doubt that Jordan will deal well with it and rise to the occasion, he is a strong character and his willingness of hard work is something I personally like a lot!”

It's clear that Larsson has a host of suitors monitoring his progress as he continues to impress in Russia. And that could mean Celtic being priced out of a move if Ange Postecoglou is keen on the Swedish striker.

But the draw of a move to Parkhead hasn't been lost on Larsson who recently said it would be a dream to move to Celtic.

"For me Celtic will always have a special place in my heart", he said in December last year.

"Not that I’ve played there in that sense, but it was the first place where I saw football as a young kid going with my mother to see games when my father was playing.

"That’s where I have the biggest memories in my head.

"'You’ll Never Walk Alone’ you have all the scarves before the games and everything so of course it will always have a special place in my heart.

"But at the same time since my father is who he is at the club I think for me personally if I would ever have the chance to play there then I would like to establish myself even more, make my own name before I would play there if that chance would ever come up but of course it’s tempting.

"Not that they are interested in that sense but If I think about it to be able to play there would be a dream in that sense.

"For me my whole life has been about proving I’m a good player, that I’m my own person you know."
