A RANGERS fan left talkSPORT hosts Jason Cundy and Jamie O'Hara in shock after claiming Steven Gerrard has 'got to go' over the loss to Malmo.

Gerrard's side fell to a 2-1 defeat to ten-man Malmo at Ibrox last night as they crashed out of Champions League qualification.

Rangers supporters, players and staff will no doubt be incredibly didsappointed, especially with around £30million cash boost on offer if the club made it to the group stage.

But one fan has taken his view to the extreme by sensationally claiming Gerrard should be sacked after the shock loss.

Speaking after the loss, the caller, Paul, didn't hold back as he made his feelings clear on air.

"He's got to go", he claimed before Cundy and O'Hara burst into laughter at the brutal opinion.

Paul continues: "He's won the Covid cup mate. He won that league last year with no fans in. As soon as we've had fans in look what's happened, we've fell apart.

"How many trophies did he get a chance at and he's won that one with Covid, honestly as soon as fans are back that team crumbled.

"I question his commitment. I think he thinks he belongs elsewhere.

"The players aren't playing for him all of a sudden, what's happened."

The shocking claim comes after Gerrard delivered the club's first top flight title in a decade and stopped Celtic's bid for ten-in-a-row.

It's also one of few blips on Gerrard's excellent record in Europe in recent seasons including reaching the Europa League last-16 last term.
