Angry Breidablik coach Oskar Hrafn Thorvaldsson has made an astonishing claim that Aberdeen captain Scott Brown and goalkeeper Joe Lewis attempted to breach his team’s changing room after the Europa Conference League tie between the sides at Pittodrie on Thursday night.

And he labelled the former Celtic skipper as “an acclaimed bully” while he described Lewis as “behaving like a five-year-old”.

Thorvaldsson had made a string of uncomplimentary comments about the Dons following their 3-2 win over the Icelandic team in Reykjavik a week earlier when he said he didn’t rate their Scottish opponents and that did not go there to play football.

The 47-year-old former Iceland defender who also had a career as a journalist, said Brown and Lewis were annoyed by those post-match remarks, although there has apparently been no mention of it in the referee's report.

“They came to our locker room,” Thorvaldsson said, “yelled some very ugly and disrespectful comments. They were really pissed about my comments but behaving like that is childish. I might have been a bit harsh with my comments but Aberdeen’s players are grown-ups.

“I am not really surprised about Scott Brown. He is, after all, one of the most acclaimed bullies. I am not surprised at that, but I am surprised about the 33-year-old goalkeeper behaving like a five-year-old.

“Scott Brown can say what he wants, but he can’t try and come into our locker room and try to abuse our players.”

Thorvaldsson admitted he was disappointed his battling side couldn’t get the result they needed, but praised Funso Ojo and Ryan Hedges, whose individual qualities, he insisted, won it for the Dons.He added: “We have to acknowledge the brilliant individual
performances of those two players and respect that.  We could have gone ahead if we had taken our chance and it would have made it an interesting final 20 minutes.

“I am very proud of my team and the way they played over the two matches.  I can’t really complain that Aberdeen went through.”

Aberdeen remained tight-lipped over Thorvaldsson's allegations except to say: "It didn't happen quite as he remembers."
