FORMER Celtic striker Chris Sutton reckons Ally McCoist is running scared after new Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou made it three wins on the bounce with Thursday evening's 3-0 victory over Jablonec - but the Ibrox legend is having none of it.

Rangers got back to winning ways with a 5-0 trouncing of Dunfermline on Friday night after suffering three defeats in a row in their previous three outings, while their Old Firm rivals across the city look to be clicking under their new manager.

With a 7-2 aggregate win over Jablonec in Europa League qualifying bookending a 6-0 hammering of Dundee in the league, Celtic have discovered their attacking groove under Postecoglou and have racked up 13 goals in their last three games.

Appearing on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra, Sutton couldn't help but taunt his old sparring partner about the reversal in fortunes for the two Glasgow giants.

He teased: "Look at Ally's face, I can see he is really worried. The Celtic machine is getting going.

Glasgow Times:

"A big win against Dundee at the weekend, the competent performances against Jablonec, home and away.

"Tom Rogic coming to the fore. Ange is doing a great, great job and Celtic love playing in front of fans, something which is clearly a problem for the team on the other side of the city.

"Everything is moving in the right direction. Celtic are coming good, and they have plenty of energy.

"It's a good start for Ange, but it's only a start."

However, McCoist was having none of it as the former Scotland internationalist questioned the calibre of opponents that the Hoops have faced recently.

He said: "I don't think there is any doubt about it, big Ange has had a couple of great results.

"Against - who was it again? Whoever that was, and Dundee.

Glasgow Times:

"They were some fine results for big Ange and Celtic and let’s be honest, after the past couple of days our game needs a shot in the arm.

"There is still uncertainty around Celtic. For example, how they are going to perform longer term? Are [Odsonne] Edouard and [Ryan] Christie going to stay? There are still question marks.

"That was the boost they needed, but Chris is right, two very good performances."
