Leigh Griffiths should make the loan switch to Dundee as it would be a move to benefit both parties.

That's according to former hitman Simon Donnelly.

The Hoops striker has been at the centre of interest from Dens Park with James McPake hopeful of an audacious deal being done.

Griffiths has not featured for Ange Postecoglou's side this season and is behind Kyogo, Odsonne Edouard and even Albian Ajeti in the pecking order.

And Donnelly suggests that Griff would be best fitted at Dundee - and he'd do the business for McPake's men.

He told BBC Sportsound: "My initial take is that it might actually work for both parties.

"I look at the effect Kyogo has had coming in and the way Ange wants to play the game - chasing lost causes, non-stop working, which is rubbing off on the rest of the team.

"Edouard is still there, whether he is going to go or not, and they're talking about this Greek striker [Giakoumakis].

"So if they have them in there, I don't see Leigh getting much game time and he's at that stage of his career where he wants to play football.

"It's a club he's familiar with and I think he would go there and do well, and it would probably just work for both parties."
