Footage has emerged of Rangers' defender Borna Barisic's emotional departure from the Ibrox pitch today.

The defender had played a key part in the 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Celtic at Ibrox but appeared to be upset upon leaving the field of play.

Croatian star Barisic looks impassioned as he is seen with the team's doctor and reserve keeper Andy Firth.

The left-back gets hunches down to pat the pitch soulfully with both hands in a motion of respect.

The player has long been linked with Serie A side Roma, but there are thought to be a number of clubs who have expressed an interest in acquiring his services.

The transfer window closes tomorrow evening with Rangers yet to fulfil their stated desire to sell a player ahead of its closure.

The Ibrox club have been open about their adoption of a player trading model that will see them sell "one or two" key assets every summer window.

It's a common model in big European clubs that find themselves without the TV revenues of the top five leagues.
