MANCHESTER UNITED ace Juan Mata has been spotted in Glasgow this international break.

The Spanish international enjoyed dinner at the Blythswood Square Hotel in the city centre.

One stunned onlooker spotted Mata at the hotel and he told the Glasgow Times: “I thought it was strange he was in Glasgow just after transfer deadline day.

“He was with his Mrs but never mentioned why he was up here. Some of the Celtic players and few agents were in as well.

Glasgow Times:

“I only saw him come down from his room and into the restaurant but he was more than happy for the photo!”

New Celtic duo Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers are also currently staying at the swanky hotel after penning their deadline day deals.

Mata was involved in a closed door game for Manchester United on Wednesday as they took on Stoke City at Old Trafford.

The 33-year-old has fallen out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently and has only made 18 appearances for United since the start of last season.

Questions have been raised over the future of the Spaniard but he is currently contracted in Manchester until next summer.
