STEVEN GERRARD has named his Rangers team to face St Johnstone this afternoon.

The Ibrox boss has handed Jon McLaughlin the starting spot in goal with Allan McGregor on the bench.

Both keepers had been out after a Covid outbreak at the club with Robby McCrorie deputising in their absence.

It's a return for James Tavernier at right-back alongside Filip Helander, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey in the backline.

That means Connor Goldson is not involved which will come as a surprise to Rangers supporters.

Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo and Steven Davis make up the midfield with Ryan Kent, Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos up top.

One notable omission from the squad is Ianis Hagi who tested positive for Covid during the international break and was forced to self-isolate.

RANGERS XI: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Balogun, Helander, Bassey, Kamara, Davis, Aribo, Kent, Roofe, Morelos.

Subs: McGregor, Lundstram, Simpson, Wright, Fashion JR, Barisic, Arfield.
