Ange Postecoglou is yet to name his Celtic skipper for tonight's Europa League clash against Real Betis, but the Hoops boss has lifted the lid on the process of his selection.

Parkhead captain Callum McGregor will miss out tonight due to injury and it remains to be seen who Postecoglou will opt for.

Speaking ahead of tonight's game the Celtic manager said: “I haven’t selected one yet. When you look around the group it’s a pretty big group, there aren’t many who have been around for too long.

"From my perspective, it’s about who’s going to feel the most comfortable in the role.

“We have brought some experience to the club, which I think will help us, particularly tomorrow night. I’ll have a look at it tomorrow.

“It was a bit of a relay every time someone came off [on Saturday]. It might be the same thing – like musical chairs and the one left ends up being captain.”

Regarding other team news ahead of the match in Seville, Postecoglou added: “Anthony Ralston is back so we’ll get him back involved. Liel Abada will miss out because of Yom Kippur, which is obviously a significant religious day for him.”
