KRIS BOYD is facing a potential ban from the Kilmac Stadium after his blast directed at on-loan Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.

Dundee are understood to be fuming with the former Rangers hitman's "disgraceful" piece on the 31-year-old.

Dees chiefs informed Sky Sports that their top pundit would not be granted access to interview any of the club's players or coaching staff in the aftermath of the weekend's 1-0 loss at the hands of Rangers.

The broadcaster were then forced to change their plan for their coverage of the game, sending a replacement reporter for all of the post-match reaction.

In his weekly Saturday column, ex-Kilmarnock striker Boyd slaughtered Griffiths for his antics in the Premier Sports Cup against St Johnstone.

Griffiths was charged by Police Scotland for kicking a flare back in to the stand hosting noisy St Johnstone support last Wednesday.

He warned Griff he was set for an afternoon of abuse from the Light Blues faithful.

This is believed to have sparked fury among the hierarchy at Dundee.

Boyd was at the game on Saturday - but we understand this looks likely to change going forward.

A Dens Park source told Herald & Times Sport: "He was at the game on Saturday but he was meant to do post-match interviews. We informed Sky we wouldn't be speaking to him and they sent a replacement for post-match stuff.

"It was a pretty quick call to make on Saturday morning.

"His piece was a disgrace so it wouldn't be a surprise if we denied him access next time."

It comes a matter of two weeks after Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon were denied access to Ibrox to work as pundits for BT Sport for Celtic and Rangers' Europa League double-header.
