Charlie Adam has rejected rumours Steven Gerrard might be targeted to replace Steve Bruce as Newcastle manager.
Amanda Staveley's consortium, backed with huge investment from Saudi Arabia's oil wealth fund has purchased the Magpies from Mike Ashley, a move that instantly makes them the world's richest club.
And the bookies have made Gerrard favourite to lead them into a bold new era of spending and success.
But Adam isn't so sure despite seeing the attractiveness of the move.

Adam said on the PLZ Football Show: "The investment is there for Steven Gerrard to go and be Newcastle manager.
"He could go and have £150million to spend. Do I think he'll go? No, I think he will see out the job he has at Rangers.
"He's got a good job there, and he knows what he is doing.
"Long-term though, is this (going to Newcastle) the stepping stone to get the Liverpool job? Maybe.
"If there is the right project available any manager will have to look at it."
