A FORMER Rangers man has said Rangers should sign a Hearts player just days before Rangers are due to face Hearts.

In news that will come as a shock to all Hearts fans who started supporting Hearts within the last two weeks, it has been suggested that a popular player from their team might actually be happier playing for the Glasgow-based side who they are due to meet this weekend.

Speaking to footyclickbait.com, the Ibrox legend was asked: “Do you think, on balance, it would be a good thing if Rangers signed Random Hearts Player?”.

After pulling up the Hearts player’s Wikipedia page, the beloved ex-Ranger replied: “Eh, I dunno. I guess, probably”.

Asked if he felt it was likely that the Hearts player would move to Rangers in the next transfer window, he replied: “I’ve only worked with him on a couple of occasions, and the last time was over two-and-a-half years ago.

“The time I spent with him then was nowhere near sufficient for me to gain a deep understanding of his psyche, and when you take into account the years that have passed and the development his personality will have undergone due to the numerous challenges and new experiences that he will have faced in that time, I am simply unqualified to pass judgement on his character, never mind use that judgement as a basis upon which to speculate as to whether he will be more or less inclined to leave Hearts in January”.

He was then asked: “Would you agree that some footballers will be eager to move from one football club to another during the January transfer window”, and replied: “Yes, but I fail to see how that’s relev-”.

That quote formed the basis of footyclickbait’s story, which was given the headline: “Hearts star in ‘eager to join Rangers’ claim as Ibrox legend gives definitive verdict on ‘wantaway’ star”.

Although some have suggested that there is little if any substance to the rumour, it has been confirmed by numerous sources that Hearts are indeed playing Rangers this weekend and so it’s a justifiable story.

The report has been met with scepticism by Hearts fans, with one tweeting: “Rangers on Saturday is it?” and another commenting: “Wonder who we’ve got this weekend”.

With a busy schedule ahead, the former Rangers man was also asked for his opinions on potential transfers to Rangers involving players from Brøndby, St Mirren, Aberdeen, Motherwell and Brøndby again.

With one day left before kick-off at Ibrox, there is still time remaining for a ‘Rangers fans react’ article and three ‘Former Rangers man reacts after another former Rangers man responds to original Former Rangers man’s claim that Rangers should sign Hearts player’ pieces.

The story is expected to die down as of 3pm on Saturday, and will be revived in seven weeks, with the next  ‘Generic Hearts Player tipped for Rangers move’ story scheduled for December 9.
