ANGE POSTECOGLOU looks set to raid his old club in Japan in the January transfer window.

According to reports, Celtic look set to swoop for Daizen Maeda of Yokohama F. Marinos.

The Hoops have already tapped into Ange's knowledge and contacts of the Asian market, having secured Kyogo Furuhashi out of the blue during the summer.

And the Times now say that Celtic are closing in on signing their second Japanese star in the winter window.

Maeda tends to be deployed up top or off the left - so appears to be a similar mould in style as Kyogo.

The 24-year-old has scored an impressive 18 goals and earned three assists so far already this campaign.

The report claims sources in Japan expect a deal taking him to the Hoops to go through in the coming months.

Postecoglou has already admitted he will return to the J-League market.

He recently said: "That [Japan] is one of the markets we will be looking at.

"Obviously I know it well and they will get to the end of their season which is a good time if there's anyone who will fit into our set-up.

"We will be looking everywhere. The last window was frantic.

"This time we want to make sure that we are planning well in advance. We have already identified targets and begun discussions before we get to January so that we can conclude deals a lot quicker than we did in the previous window."
