SCOTLAND are sweating over the fitness of Kieran Tierney ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifying double-header this month.

Steve Clarke's side take on Moldova and Denmark as they aim to secure a play-off spot for next year's big tournament in Qatar.

While there's good news in that Lyndon Dykes looks set to be fit for the Denmark game, the Scots will be worried about Tierney's current injury status.

Ex-Celtic star Tierney missed his third consecutive game for Arsenal in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Leicester.

Mikel Arteta admits he does not know when the 24-year-old would be available again with the ankle injury causing the defender significant pain.

He said: “He didn’t train on Friday. He’s still in pain and was struggling with his running.

“We need him back but I don’t know when that will be.”

KT hasn’t started for the Gunners since the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on October 18.

Scotland travel to Moldova on November 12, knowing a win will seal second spot in the group.

The final game of the group will be played against Denmark three days later.
