CELTIC defender Carl Starfelt has issued fans with an update on his injury status.

The Hoops star limped off after 60-minutes against Livingston on Saturday.

The 26-year-old appeared to be holding his hamstring as he walked off the pitch, after feeling a problem and seeking treatment from the medical team.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed that was the issue in his post-match interview.

The club will now be sweating over the fitness of the Swede who will likely miss the Europa League group game against Ferencvaros this week.

Starfelt told Aftonbladet (via Fotbollskanalen): "I have an X-ray tomorrow (Monday) so we will have to look out for it (results), but it's probably an easier stretch. That is still a couple of weeks."

If he is sidelined for that length of time, he would also be due to miss the weekend's match in Dundee.

His recovery would also look likely to run in to the League Cup semi-final against St Johnstone on Saturday, November 20.

Celts then play Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League on November 25.
