CELTIC will withold Rangers' away allocation for the next Old Firm derby in the New Year, according to a report.

The Glasgow rivals will meet at Parkhead on January 2.

The Hoops were due to recieve 700 tickets for away fans to attend the first clash between the big two in August, which finished 1-0 to the Light Blues.

However, this was cancelled by the Ibrox outfit, with the match played in front of entirely home supporters.

Now, as expected, Celtic will follow suit - meaning the powderkeg clash with be played at Parkhead full of Hoops fans.

The Scottish Sun report the issue of away tickets was raised at a Celtic forum Q&A session held last week, with various senior club officials present.

The club's acting chief executive Michael Nicholson was among those taking part.

It was confirmed Rangers would receive no allocation after Celtic fans were locked out for the first derby match.

Ibrox chiefs made their U-turn on plans to host 700 Celts fans due to uncertainty over a similar arrangement for the second Premiership installment of the fixture.

At that time, it was said Celtic couldn't deliver a guarantee there would be a Gers allocation. It's believed this was due to red zone coronavirus restrictions and season ticket numbers.

Rangers withdrew the Hoops allocation for Ibrox and will now get no tickets for the crucial new year derby.

The report also states that Celtic would be open to discussions with Rangers about bringing back away crowds for the famous fixture after the January 2 encounter.
