FASHION SAKALA has met with the president of Zambia in Glasgow.

And the Rangers striker kindly gifted him a signed top and scarf.

Sakala was invited to meet up with Hakainde Hichilema, with the Zambian delegate in the city for COP26.

The pair each posted on social media this morning to share their delight, with Hichilema describing Sakala as a 'great talent'.

It comes just days after the No.30 bagged an incredible hat-trick against Motherwell in Rangers' 6-1 win at Fir Park.

Hichilema's social media post reads: “Caught up with one of our country’s young and talented footballers currently playing for Scotland’s Rangers F.C here in Glasgow, Fashion Sakala.

“Fashion represents the great talent in our youths that should be encouraged to continue raising the bar higher and be good ambassadors for the country.

"We have a number of our young talented sportsmen and women both at home and abroad who should be encouraged to achieve more.

"It was touching to hear that Fashion feels his life mirrors ours as he also grew up in the village, worked hard, and it now on the world stage."

Sakala also took to Instagram to share pictures of the two, expressing his gratitude to meet the leader of his homeland.

He said: "God bless. Great honour to be invited by the president of our country Zambia.

"Saying "thank you" is not enough for me to express how grateful I am for your invitation to meet you Mr President.

"Your words of encouragement, guidance and advice will stay in my heart forever as I'm chasing the dream to motivate hopeless people to believe that it's not to late for them, and they should know that god has better plans for them.

"I'm praying for you to lead the nation with freedom and peace. God bless you and give you wisdom as you are making great plans for our lovely nation Zambia."
