GIOVANNI Van Bronckhorst has revealed  ready to return to management amid rumours linking him with the Rangers job.

The Dutchman is among names quickly established in the odds to take over at Ibrox should Steven Gerrard finalise a move to Aston Villa.

Van Bronckhorst has been out of work since a spell with Guangzhou R&F in China last year. He previously spent four years as manager of Feyenoord.

Rangers have stepped up their search for a replacement for Gerrard as he looks set to head south, and Ibrox legend Van Bronckhorst was even made favourite with McBookie earlier today at 4/1.

The 46-year-old revealed he's ready to get back into management after recharging with time out of the dugout.

He said: "I've had a lot of time lately to be at home and spend a lot of time in my foundation.

"That was a bit more difficult in recent years. Now I have the sense and energy to take on a great challenge.

"It is important in that regard - which club is it, and does it suit me?"

And he admitted he needed to leave his Asian adventure because of the difficulty of coronavirus.

"It was great fun in Asia, but after a month I noticed that it was becoming very difficult because of Corona", he said.

"It was therefore important to return to the Netherlands as soon as possible.

"But I have always been interested in new cultures. It was great to work in China, but it was impossible with Corona."
