GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has hailed kit man Jimmy Bell as a 'pillar' of Rangers after being reunited with the Ibrox veteran this week.

The Dutchman has returned to Glasgow two decades after he ended a successful spell under the guidance of Dick Advocaat to clinch a move to Arsenal.

Van Bronckhorst met staff at Auchenhowie this weekend and will get down to business on Monday ahead of his first match in charge at home to Sparta Prague.

Bell is one of the familiar faces that the 46-year-old has greeted once again and Van Bronckhorst told RangersTV: "It is always good to come into a place where you already know some people.

"For me, Jimmy Bell is a special person. In the first days of my time at Rangers, I think I couldn’t have met a truer Scotsman from the beginning.

"For me, it was very difficult to understand him. But he is one of the pillars of what the Rangers identity is.

"It is good to see that Jimmy has been for the club for many years and I am looking forward to seeing him again. I will probably understand him a bit better than my first time!"
