Ange Postecoglou has been a passionate proponent of attractive attacking football to the extent that his style has its own name – Angeball.

So it’s no surprise to see him defend the way he goes about coaching the game when asked by Open Goal host Simon Ferry if he might change his style when playing away from home in Europe.

And his passionate explanation left fellow pundit Paul Slane temporarily into raptures in front of the chuckling Hoops gaffer.

Ange said of changing his style: “I don’t understand the question because people always say, ‘Well, you need a result today will you change your approach?’ “Well I need a result every week mate.

“So if I was going to change it for that game, if that guarantees me a result then I will do that every week but it doesn’t. What I do gives me the best chance of success.

“If you’d told me that I need to win this weekend, I’m going to go as super aggressive as I possibly can because that’s who I am and how I coach.”

Starstruck former Celtic youngster Slane was so impressed with the answer he could only smile and state: “I love him. You’re a legend”
