AJAX have confirmed the departure of their U18s coach Dave Vos and confirmed that he will link up with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Rangers.

The 38-year-old has been working with the Dutch giants for ten years.

During that period he has worked as youth coach and as an assistant at Ajax's B team Jong Ajax. In 2018 he won the Future Cup with the Ajax U17 side.

Vos was still on the touchline in Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon at Ajax's UEFA Youth League match against Besiktas. His side won 1-0, which forced a place for the knockout phase.

Rangers have confirmed that Vos will take up the role of assistant manager at Ibrox.

Sporting Director, Ross Wilson, commented: “In selecting all of the members our new coaching team, Gio and I wanted to ensure that we added someone who was obsessed with coaching and improving players and teams with elite-level work on the grass.

“Dave is a young but experienced coach who has a top reputation, respected throughout Europe for his work at Ajax across the last decade. This is the next step in his impressive career and we are delighted to welcome him to Rangers.”

Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst added: “I am really happy that Dave will join our staff and I have a really good feeling of what he will bring to our group.

“He is a highly energetic and innovative coach and having him with us will be of benefit to everyone. Dave will help me and the other staff a lot to develop our players and our team.”
