ALLAN MCGREGOR has topped Joe Hart in an official UEFA poll on who is the better goalkeeper.

Both have put on some fine displays in the Europa League this term and the official competition Twitter page quizzed its followers over who is the better stopper.

Over 30,000 Twitter users voted on the poll and in the end it was Rangers goalkeeper McGregor who came out on top.

The Ibrox veteran recieved 55.9 per cent of the votes, while Hart missed out on the glory with 44.1 per cent.

Many supporters replied to the post as Celtic and Rangers fans battled it out over who was the better player.

One said: "Why would you even ask the question McGregor constantly keeping his team in the game and keeping clean sheets.

"Joe Hart the only clean sheets he sees are on McGregor's washing line!"

Another argued: "One is playing in a cup final in a few weeks, one will he sitting at home watching."

A third tweeted: "One is top of the league which matters 10x more, aswell as in the Europa League Knockouts.

"Joe Hart conceded the most goals in the Europa league including a nutmeg that played a crucial part in you lot getting knocked out."

And a fourth added: "McGregor was a good GK in his day but overall I would say Hart is better. He has been sensational and consistent pulling off some truly vital saves.

"We maybe in the Conference League but that is primarily due to our defence and not converting scoring opportunities."
