RANGERS starlet Leon King is being lined up for a reunion with Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa, according to reports.

The 17-year-old centre-half was handed his professional debut by the Liverpool legend last year in a Premier Sports Cup tie at Falkirk.

And the highly thought of youngster is out of contract at the end of the current season.

This has alerted a number of top clubs to his availability.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Gerrard is looking to take advantage of his contract situation and lure him tto Villa Park.

The report states that only £200,000 of compensation would need to be paid for the teenage talent in a cross-border development fee.

This will be a familiar clause for Rangers fans, with the club using it to sign Joe Aribo from Charlton in 2019 from Charlton for around £300,000.

However, Villa face stiff competition from Manchester United for King, with Leciester and Newcastle also showing interest.
